Brian Eno Urges Public Help to Send Palestinian Solidarity Lullaby to UK Holiday Chart Peak.

A campaign is aiming to propel a traditional song from Palestine to the peak of the festive singles chart. The project hopes to send support to people in Gaza while also spotlighting Palestinian artistic heritage.

A Possibility for Support and an "Chart Upset"

Renowned figure Brian Eno, who performs on the track, stated that the release called 'Lullaby' represents a chance to show solidarity with Palestinians this festive season. He noted the potential for an unexpected chart success.

“It would be fantastic if that came to pass, yes,” he said. “I won't be completely disheartened if it fails to, Christmas singles are a thing unto themselves.”

Powerful Theme of Freedom and Dignity

Palestinian singer Nai Barghouti, who sings on the reimagining of a cultural piece called Yamma Mwel El Hawa, explained the track's resilient spirit.

“It has a very special place for many individuals,” Barghouti explained. “The message is that I would prefer a dignified death than live a life without freedom. This is the primary message of the song; we seek to lead a life of dignity that we merit as a people.”

Track's Background and Contributing Musicians

The track was produced following a major charity concert held in September. Originally intended to be captured during the live event, the piece was omitted from the lengthy event due to the event running long.

The impressive roster of performers contributing to Lullaby encompasses a range of acclaimed names from the industry. All were part of the benefit event, which managed to collect a considerable total for charitable causes.

Production and Release

Lullaby was brought to life by a team of talented individuals. The track showcases a combination of the heritage language with contemporary English verses.

The group managing the initiative have stated that their goal is to generate maximum funds for a charitable pot. These resources will be distributed to initiatives supporting Palestinians through an non-profit partner.

“We haven't set a fixed goal,” a figure said. “We will pursue whatever we can get. Obviously, the greater the amount, the better. All proceeds are directed out to the people of Gaza.”

The situation in the region was described as its widespread damage, with a overwhelming percentage of property said to be in ruins or severely impacted.

“In that context, a couple of million won't make an enormous impact. But I think what does make a difference is above all raising awareness for this issue and demonstrating there’s another side to the story.”

The track is launching at the end of the week. Additionally, a video of the solidarity show will be made available for streaming on a major video platform from the 19th of December.
