NFL 2025 season: Week six

Live coverage features live text of Sunday's games on various channels, beginning with Denver Broncos v New York Jets in London (kicking off at 2 PM BST). Also, audio coverage is available on select stations covering another key matchup (from 21:00 BST).

We're in the sixth week in the football calendar , following recent talk regarding the Buffalo Bills and Philadelphia Eagles as a potential Super Bowl match-up, each surrendered their perfect starts.

Notable in those games were the amount of infractions both conceded. The Eagles did so at crucial times so they essentially beat themselves after leading by two touchdowns going into the final quarter versus Denver, set to play in London this Sunday.

However it proved good to see that Denver's QB Bo Nix was able to overcome that deficit before direct three successful possessions in three attempts in the fourth quarter, securing the game 21-17.

The Broncos boast the top defender with CB Pat Surtain II. They rank number one in goal-line defense, while Philadelphia lead the league in red zone offence, yet the Broncos prevailed in that battle.

They executed effective strategies regarding simulated pressure. They weren't always sending more than four pass rushers but they might plug two LBs in the interior then withdrawing them and send a nickel from the outside.

Early on of the season, it was noted on a program that Denver might emerge as the current year's dark horses. They finished last season strongly and excelled in continuing that momentum.

Could Denver be this year's underdog story?

New TE their tight end has stepped up big while new RB JK Dobbins is a guy the team trusts. He's currently fifth in the NFL for rushing yards (over 400) as well as tied for fourth in rushing scores (4).

I love that the coach Sean Payton has "RUN IT!" at the top of his playcall sheet.

That shows how the Broncos are a team aiming to run first, because one can do a lot based on that approach. It reduces opposing rushes while keeps you in favourable situations.

This has benefited QB the young passer, who entered the NFL as the 12th overall draft pick last year, passing for 29 TDs – second only to a star QB for the rookie record (31 back in 2020).

Other elite QBs have powerful arms to pass all over, but they don't move the mobility that Nix has. He has exceptional passing ability, a unique trait, and he's highly agile.

His strengths are his movement, being able to throw on the run, as well as using different arm angles to deliver the pass when he rolls outside protection, the bootlegs. He is able to deliver precision throws over the middle and over the corner.

As a rookie QB, aged 25, he displays great composure under pressure and isn't really fazed by extra rushers. He tries to evade a sack as much as possible and is able throw under pressure. He possesses a high football IQ and remains very decisive.

When you constantly rush it eats up time and forces the opponent to be on the field for longer, and if you have a mobile QB the defense must defend the field downfield side to side. This proves draining.

Nix has pushed back with the coach during games sometimes and I think Payton likes that attitude, seeing him as a fierce rival. I think it's fun for the coach to coach a young quarterback who's kind of like moldable clay. He can really build something up how he wants to shape him. I believe it's a unique opportunity for the coach.

The head coach has won a Super Bowl and has surpassed a legend in all-time victories (173 - tied 14th overall). He's seen it all. In my opinion the achievements Denver are having offensively is mostly down to his guidance, his play-calling, his game sense – and the pairing with the QB aids shape him into who he is.

There's no better a better guy guiding you, to help you during some of the tougher situations and boost self-belief.

I have faith in the Broncos' defense, in the QB's grit and calm. Yet is the team strong enough to face an elite team at its best? Because that wasn't a Super Bowl performance by the Eagles in their last game.

Currently, it's unlikely Denver are incredible. They're performing better than most, that's a solid position to be in the AFC West. The key is to continue this path.

They're really good at embracing their forte, that is the ground game, and that's precisely what they must do against the Jets in London. It's going to be a Dobbins-focused game, essentially.

New York have allowed 140 rushing yards each contest (sixth worst), five rushing touchdowns this season (10th worst), and they are the only team without a win any game.

Ever since the NFL began tracking turnovers in 1933, this team are the inaugural squad to go without any turnovers through five games, which is surprising when you think that the head coach was previously defensive co-ordinator with another team.

Patrick Mahomes says Kansas City are off to a poor start following Monday's defeat to Jacksonville.

After the upcoming matchup, Denver face a manageable slate up to their bye (in week twelve) - the New York Giants, the Cowboys, the Texans plus the Raiders prior to the Kansas City Chiefs.

Looking at the AFC West, the Chiefs are 2-3 and the Broncos are tied with the Chargers on 3-2 so they could challenge for the top of the West.

This hinges upon what version Kansas City shows up they meet since the Broncos {beat|def
